About this ebook

Of all the gorgeous grouches Melanie’s ever worked with, Declan Bain is without a doubt the worst. And as an aspiring costume designer still working as a wardrobe girl in L.A., she’s definitely met her fair share.

So, when a weird development arises out of the blue, crossing their paths and effectively turning their lives upside down, waking up next to him in her childhood bed is only the second most shocking result.

Finding out he’d actually wanted something to happen between them is the first.

And now that Declan’s fully aware of just how much she’s enjoyed working with his…um, wardrobe, all this time, he’s decided to collect on all the very dirty, very alcohol-fueled promises she made him before falling asleep.

Melanie really has no idea what she promised the man, but if it’s even half as wicked as the things he’s promising to do to her, she’s not sure she’ll survive.

But she’s absolutely willing to find out.

Sweet and insightful take on the movie star trope. Melanie is the dressing girl for the movie Declan has been working on for the past few months. They’re both interested in each other, but of course, repeatedly misread each other’s motives. They both keep catching glimpses of each other in the mirror when she’s helping him get into costume…Declan notices Melanie’s interest. However, whenever he gets all dreamy-eyed over her, Melanie believes he’s gazing in adoration at his own image and actually despises her. Declan is a hard hero to understand at first, and it’s easy to feel for Melanie whenever she misinterprets him. Things I liked about the story: -Declan is complex and intelligent. He’s not just a pretty foil for Melanie’s happily ever after. -It has a great cast of supporting characters. Cammie, Melanie’s roommate/friend is sweet, kind and a great friend. -Cammie absolutely deserves her own story and a HEA (Hint, Hint!!). -Melanie’s mom is wonderful and interesting. -Christa Wick sensitively portrays people with mental health issues. -The inception-like reference at the end. -#iamwithmelanie – people judge, but Christa Wick showed that people can also be supportive and stand up to unfairness. Things I didn’t like about the story: Nil. I pretty much liked everything. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader copy of this book.

Christa Wick never fails to being in the steam with her romance! This book was super HOT!! The connection between the main characters started slowly, but once they were thrown together, things definitely heated up! Declan, the H, has a damaged past but obviously fell for Melanie at first sight. It took her awhile to not only believe in herself and trust in Declan before the sparks really flew. As with all of Wick's writing, the background stories of the main characters are well developed and bring a lot of emotions and drama to the story. The ability to have the reader connect so well with Melanie and the events unfolding around her, as well as the troubled past she has been through, is one of the main things I love about this story and all of Christa Wick's novels. She really pulls the reader in through empathy and intrigue as you really route for the characters to form a strong romance. This book had me hooked from page one and I only put it down once - I was that enthralled! I also immediately began a re-read the second I finished - it was that good!
