DIRTY SECRET: A Slayers Hockey Novel - Secret relationship, Rival's Little Sister, Forbidden Romance, Second Chance, Girl Who Got Away

Mira Lynn Kelly is a relatively new author to me and I am surprised I have not read more from this author before now. Dirty Secret was an entertaining story that had me hooked form the first chapter. A one night stand between Vaughn and Anatole (aka Allie) started a chain of events that neither expected. Allie knew who Vaughn was but he had no idea who she was. Their journey was rocky at times but it was a story that I enjoyed.

Mira Lyn Kelly hits it in the net with Dirty Secret (Slayers Hockey #1). NHL player Vaughn Vassar is traded to the same team as his as his arch rival, Greg Baxter (Dirty Player, Back To You #2). He is shocked to discover Allie, the girl of his dreams that he met in Vancouver eight months ago, is Greg's little sister, Natalie Baxter. This contemporary sports romance us suitable for adult readers. I adored this story. Allie and Vaughn have great chemistry. The two get each other. Allie sees beyond Vaughn’s image, and Vaughn appreciates Allie for the person she is and not for being Greg’s sister. I love that he puts her first when she has always come in second to Greg. Dirty Secret is skillfully written. The characters had compelling obstacles. The hockey scenes are thrilling and add to the novel. I love that Allie played hockey as well. The book is an exciting read that I finished in a day. Dirty Secret is a great foundation for the Slayers series. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series. As much as she WANTS Vaughn, she knows she can never have him...or can she. Vaughn knows he should stay away from Natalie, even though she’s ALL he can think about. He knows if her brother and team captain finds out about them, he’ll be kicked off the team, thus ending his chances of a trade. Is Allie worth the risk? Their chemistry is explosive! Natalie’s sweetness is the perfect balance to Vaughn’s edginess. Vaughn was very patient! I loved how Vaughn stood up to Natalie’s brother! I can’t wait to go back and read the first novel in the series. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
