About this ebook

Coming face-to-face with the scoundrel who broke her heart on the eve of her wedding to another man could not be more awkward or ill-timed for Lady Sally Ford. When she accepted London’s most eligible earl, she hoped her heart had healed enough to learn to love him after they tied the knot. Her betrothed has no idea she was once engaged to an ambitious sea captain who betrayed her, and Sally has never forgotten or forgiven Captain Hastings for leaving her behind as he made his fortune at sea.

When Felix answered the urgent summons from his superior, he never expected to face his angry first and only love about to marry an earl or to discover he has the support of her family to get in her way. With no expectation of winning her back, Felix finally has a chance to clear the air about the past. But with every argument and stolen moment, their former passion reignites as if it had never waned. Is there a chance to begin again and forgive each other when they must part any day?

Loved Sally and Felix. When Felix is summoned by Sally's grandfather to their country estate he does not think he will meet Sally. He is shocked when he comes face to face with her along with her betrothed Lord Ellicott. Sally has never forgiven or forgotten Captain Felix Hastings for dissapearing and leaving her heartbroken six years ago. As Felix spends time in her family home and they sort out what happened in the past,Sally has to decide if she wants to give Felix a second chance or Marry Lord Ellicott. Her family have their own agendas, but want to see her happy. A very enjoyable read with family banter, friendships, romance, laughter, emotions, steam and a happily ever after. Want to read the rest of the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The Wedding Affair (Rebel Hearts), Book 1 by Heather Boyd is a interesting Regency Historical Romance. Second chances, sweet romance, betrayal, ambition, broken hearts, healing, forgiveness, family influence and misunderstandings, makes for some interesting reading. This is, Captain Felix Hastings and Sally Ford's story. They had been betrothed six years prior to this story. Sally had given her innocence to Captain Felix believing they where to marry. But, she believes the lies and called off the marriage, thinking he was a fortune hunter. Ambition and pride destroys their future together. Six years later....Captain Felix, returns. Sally is now a widow, Lady Ellicott. Sparks fly again. Their love had never died. First, they must regain trust, and forgive past mistakes, but, will they finally be able to have their chance for a HEA or lose all, again? But can either forgive the other one, or will they lose all to due pride and foolishness? The reader will find many twists and turns, and the secondary characters are sure to find stories of their own. Ms. Boyd has woven a tale with engaging characters and an emotionally charged storyline. While listed as steamy, I did not think it was steamy. A great Regency Romance! Readers of second chances, are sure to enjoy "The Wedding Affair". THE REBEL HEARTS SERIES Book 1: The Wedding Affair Book 2: An Affair of Honor Received for an honest review from Net Galley. However, all opinions and thoughts are my own. Rating: 4.5 Heat rating: Mild Reviewed by: AprilR

The Wedding Affair by Heather Boyd leaves an impression. Sally allowed others to influence her opinions and ended up hurting herself more than she realized. One act cost her the love of her life and left a trail of heartbreak that has lingered on throughout the years. I received an ARC of Heather Boyd's latest novel in exchange for an honest review. Sally was a character that I found hard to feel anything for. To me she kept making decisions based on emotion, more than common sense. It seemed to me she was her own worse enemy. If you ask me Felix was far too forgiving. I like Heather Boyd because she gives you the true story. Work has to be put in to get to the happily ever after and she doesn't sugar coat the painful on the road to love.
