Talk Hockey to Me

This is book 3 in the Bears Hockey series and it features Kate and Hunter. Hunter has issues from when he was younger and is still dealing with them. These two were friends in college and shared one sizzling HOT night. After that night, they didn’t see each other for four years. Now she’s a sports agent and he’s a hockey player in need of an agent. 

Great story line between once friends and lovers, who haven’t seen each other in years and are learning about each other all over again. I love seeing characters from previous books.

I loved the heroine's job in this book. Being a woman sports agent in a predominantly male field made for an intriguing heroine.

I liked how the author handled her role. She didn't make her a ball buster, which seems to be the default trait for a strong woman. Instead Kate was a smart, sophisticated and level headed business woman.

Kate did have a mothering trait to her but I felt that was a positive to her job. She took care of her clients and they appreciated the attention they got from her.

Hunter was a harder character to get to know at first. Not only for the reader but for Kate as well. He showed a lot of growth as the chapters progressed.

I'm not usually a fan of flashbacks, but in this case It really shed some light into Kate and Hunter's beginning and allowed us to see past the closed off Hunter. I liked that he wasn't the typical jock. He had layers and some of those layers showed a vulnerable man.

The author touched on some delicate matters in this book and I think she did a fantastic job with it.

OMG this book was amazing! I never wanted it to end! Towards the end I was trying not to rush reading because I knew it would be over soon. 😩

All Hunter has ever known is hockey. While in high school a horrific accident killed most of the players in the bus that were headed home from a tournament. He and two of his buddies were the only survivors. It took Hunter a while to continue with his dream of going into the NHL. His agent has always worked hard for him, however, he just had a heart attack and now Hunter’s contract is almost up and doesn’t have anyone representing him. Remembering his old college friend Kate, who played hockey in college and decided to become a sports agent, is a risk since she’s a rookie, but he trusts her.

The last person Kate imagines getting a call from is Hunter. Nothing prepared her for the memories that phone call has instilled where all she can think about is their college trip to Cancun and the wonderful night they spent together. She’s a professional and needs the business. Here she thought she was over him. Kate knows Hunter and she will try to resist him and get him a good contract. It what if she falls for him all over again.
