About this ebook

An exciting prequel to THE DUKE HEIST.

Meet the Wild Wynchesters: This fun-loving, caper-committing family of tight-knit siblings can’t help but find love and adventure!

Years ago, Chloe Wynchester and five other uniquely talented orphans were adopted by a wealthy baron with a secret mission: The motley Wynchester family fights for justice from the margins of high society. And the handsome, clever duke Chloe has long admired proves to be her worst enemy…

An unscrupulous boarding school is exploiting orphans in a secret workhouse. Baron Vanderbean plots a daring rescue. When illness befalls him, Chloe must take the reins. But how can a lifelong wallflower lead the charge to save the children?

Delightful prequel that introduces the Wynchester family I enjoyed getting to know all the Wynchester siblings and their noble patriarch, Bean. Chloe is the main focus of this story as she takes the lead in rescuing a collection of exploited children from the headmistress of a school that preys upon young girls who don't have much family support. As heroic as this mission is, it's nearly abandoned when tragedy strikes the Wynchester family, but they eventually pull themselves together and deliver a well-deserved happy ending for all. Meanwhile, there's an on-going story thread about recovering a family heirloom from the son of the man who stole it, which leads right into the main book, The Duke Heist. As an introductory prequel, this book is well worth the read. The characters are likable and unique, and I'm looking forward to reading about each one of them as this series develops. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I’m not sure what to call this story other than a whole lot of great good fun. I love any type of heist story where a “good” bad guy gets away with pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes and the true villain is brought to justice. I’m sure it comes from an early childhood love of everything Robin Hood. And the Wynchesters are very much of the ilk of the hero of Sherwood Forest; taking on the entitled to give back to the downtrodden and forgotten. This story pulled me in from the beginning and the stage is set for the next book to the point that I want to start reading it immediately. There are a couple of questions that I’m rather desperate to know the answers to. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

The Wynchesters... they fight for justice and stand together! Chloe and her family of orphans are a force when they use their talents to get things done.... Taken in by Baron Vanderbean, these orphans had been very fortunate. When one of the orphans has been adopted from the same orphanage Chloe came from, the family decides not to keep her and sends her to a boarding school. But instead of a school they treat the children like slaves... With the Wynchesters on the case, there is apt to be change. A lovely introduction to this new series which I cannot wait to read!
